Accounting Assistant

We’re looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team and support the Accounts Cluster in maintaining accurate financial records and smooth administrative operations. Reporting to the Accounts Manager, this role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, monitoring bank transactions, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily administrative and accounting functions across the Accounts Department
- Process supplier and customer invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
- Conduct bank, sales, and supplier reconciliations, including voucher redemptions
- Monitor and verify bank transfers and assist in cash flow tracking
- Maintain up-to-date financial reports and records to support audits and internal reviews
- Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and external compliance requirements
- Perform general accounting tasks and provide ad hoc support as needed
Skills and Attributes:
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Effective time management and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative team approach.
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and strong sense of accountability.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
- Preferably a minimum 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills
